This site looks like a cool way to use microblogging with students in a controlled environment.

A blogging tool . . .mini-Twitter? Claims to be safe and school based. Good place to vent, I guess - not very formalized writing . .
  • We're a safe, school-based twitter-like blogging network for students

Looks basic as a photo editor.

FixUpMyPic is a web 2.0 tool that allows users to upload ordinary pics and have them "fixed" by a large professional staff. These pics are then sent back to the user, where they can be shared on any popular social network, personal blog or web site, or even printed and shared as gifts. This whole process is 100% free, and no registration is required.

With MagToo, you can create free image presentations known as "MagShows," to display on your blog or on social network profiles like Facebook or Myspace. You can create a MagShow that is a Slide Show or a Panorama Show, and MagToo will even 'auto-stitch' photos together to create your panoramic image. Add any music you want, or record voice narration.

Great site to practice dialogue. Unfortunately the videos you have to pull from are usually blogged from most school districts (youtube, etc.)

This is a great site, but you need to get videos online, and some can be inappropriate for students.
  •
You can download videos and then add dialogue bubblesto them.

This could be fun with irony. Students could spoof a novel or historical event. You can build your own character with a body, arms, legs, etc. Don't see anything harmful in the posting. Obviously, you are limited by the designer's characterizations.

Great for use as a literture or reading center
