"Why is technology important?" there are now more than two decades of work that
I think cannot be ignored, pointing to not only the positive impacts of technology in
areas like basic reading skills and improved writing and helping kids do advanced
work in mathematics and science, but also to
the areas where we do need to do more work, where there is, of course,
improvement to be made. And, as our knowledge of how kids learn and our
technological capabilities grow, we should expect to continue to have to invest in
research, in development, in evaluation, and then to be prepared to apply those
findings in real application and real practice.
