The evolution of the web from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 and now to Web 3.0 can be used a metaphor of how education should also be evolving, as a movement based on the evolution from Education 1.0 to Education 3.0. I discussed this in Schools are doing Education 1.0; talking about doing Education 2.0;...

"Less to Pedagogy Among educators, there's much talk of pedagogy, but in institutions of higher education, there should be more talk of andragogy. Andragogy, also called adult learning theory, is the adult version of pedagogy. Adult learners, especially non-traditional college students, will probably gain more from instructors who use principles of andragogy. In college, I learned about four of its assumptions."

Why is curation important? Curation is a life skill and an important part of being digitally literate. Educators need to know how to curate information so they can teach students how they can curate content for research, their interests and passion. As part of this process educators need to encourage students to curate information using techniques that address their own personal learning needs.
