C.R.A.P. Test C: Last reviewed nearly 4 years ago might not seem like a long time, but in the world of technology, a lot can change in regards to how things work. R: Despite the years, the information seems reliable and not particularly opinionated. A: Three student level Authors signed their names on this document as well as being reviewed by someone with a Ph.D. in 'adolescent development'.​ P: Litte to no opinion, not trying to sell me anything other than the idea that the internet is a dangerous place.

There are a couple of ideas here that would suit schools (e.g. the photo booth, wearable camera - a day in the life etc.)

Humm - this could be a meaningful, real-life project for assignment 3. Involving students in the marketing campaign to return these insects back onto Lord Howe Island. Researching the insects, producing videos, posters, podcasts, - lots of options here...

This is real-life learning.... and an example how powerful a simple blog can be :) 

Literacy in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is fundamental to life in our modern technological society. To equip students to be literate life long learners and global citizens of the 21st century we must successfully integrate ICT into both the English curriculum and English pedagogical practice.

Although this work was published in 2002, it provides a thorough discussion of ICT as a strategy against poverty. Many concepts here remain relevant and thought provoking 12 years on. Harris investigates possibilities for ICT based education, e-learning, and life-long learning to forge "substantial improvements in the daily lives of millions of poor people". This work could be linked to Year 10 History and the Depth Study on Rights and Freedoms.
