Teachers can download and share lesson plans, find professional development opportunities, incorporate technology integration ideas, blog on current school-related issues, and much more. It is a go-to site as a teacher. Looking here before Googling can save time and energy.

Funbrain (and counterparts like Mathbrain) is a fun, interactive game environment where students can go to brush up on skills already taught or attempt new ones based on teacher guidance. The site offers a curriculum guide and standards finder in order for teachers to properly target the games. Games can be played in conjunction with lessons in the classroom, or students can benefit from using the program in the computer lab or at home.

Cherokee County, GA's program for getting technology tools to teachers who are motivated to use them. I listened to a podcast of their presentation at GAETC 2007. Sounds like a great way to use limited money to put technology into classrooms where it will be used. Teachers have to commit a lot of time to training, implementing lessons, and sharing what they did.

This article, retrieved from "Tools for TEKS- Integrating Technology in the Classroom" site, goes into why teachers should harness many of the new powers available to them now that read/write web (Web 2.0) programs are so readily available. Now that students have cell phones and are constantly posting to blogs, wikis, and YouTube, the author argues that we as teachers should put these things to good use in the classroom. Cell phones, as well as other digital audio and visual recording devices, can be used to gather and later present information for class projects.

According to the website, Georgia Public Broadcasting "creates, produces, and delivers high quality educational resources that enrich, inform, and support the Georgia learning community." GPB provides multimedia educational programing with supplementary materials and training on classroom technology integration. The statewide network empowers teachers across the state to collaborate by connecting them with other teachers in and out of their fields.

While Scholastic's site is well known for its helpful lessons and resources for teachers, this page lays out five excellent lessons that address student health issues. Teachers can also use reproducibles that go along with each lesson.

These videos, provided by the Apple Learning Interchange, provide a short snippet about a particular topic (in this case, the changes humans cause on animal habitats) and then launch into a multifaceted lesson. Teachers have a purpose, learning activities, resources, and examples of student projects to use to guide them through the provided lessons. Standards are clearly represented through an "Evidence of Learning" section (with rubrics) as well as NETS and 21st Century Learning Skills Alignments sections. Teachers can use many available photos and interviews during the lesson, as well.

TeacherLine Southeast provides online professional development courses for PreK-12 teachers in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. These PBS TeacherLine courses are standards-based and proven effective. Georgia PLU credits for recertification are available through their programs. As a result of these courses, teachers are better prepared to help students meet NCLB requirements.

I put this under tools, but, honestly, it's a lot more. iTunes U is a repository to tons of podcasts and the like that are all state-approved and available through iTunes for free. This site also helps teachers make their content available to other teachers.

This site features many interactive learning and design tools for teachers and lots of ideas and examples for integrating technology. 4Teachers features professional development, educational video games, success stories, and a videos channel. It also has links to a "Family of Tools" including QuizStar, RubiStar, Academic Skill Builders, PersuadeStar, Equity, TrackStar, Assign-A-Day, Casa Notes, PBL Checklists, Teacher Tacklebox, Web Poster Wizard, NoteStar, Think Tank, and KidsVid. There are also assessment resources available.

This is a helpful piece, targeted slightly to teachers of younger children, concerning how to integrate Wikis into a classroom experience.
