The Study Island program is specifically designed to help students master the Tennessee Curriculum Standards. Study Island's focus on the required standards enables students to improve their performance in all standard skill areas, which results in increased proficiency and leads to improved test scores for Math, Reading/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Students can use Study Island from any computer with internet access. This will help students prepare for TCAP (Tennessee's state assessment) as well as for next year's learning. Blue ribbons show mastery in the Subject Areas and Topic Areas assessed on TCAP. As students advance through the objectives, they can use games or test mode to complete tasks and achieve blue ribbons. I have seen this learner centered program really boost student learning in science and social studies, subjects I feel are often left to cram in at the end of the day. It appeals to students at various grade and learning levels. It is repetitive and gives direct instruction for areas of need.

Reading stories for each week have great tools online to increase comprehension. Online instruction includes: Meet the Author/Illustrator, Literacy Lessons, Research and Inquiry Activities, Language Activities, and Vocabulary/Spelling Activities.

The Math textbooks are available online with content identical to the student books. Education Place includes a Math Glossary, Games, Brain Teasers, Extra Practice, Homework Help, and More. Both of these websites are used with each unit or lesson in Reading or Math. It can also be accessed at home by parents and students. Some games included in the sites might provide some behavioral activity, however, it is general more cognitive in nature. The learning is presented through a website used via iPads, computer, or interactive white board, however it is learner-centered on the standards and objectives directly correlated with the units and lessons being studied at school in Reading or Math.

.The website, Technology Resource Teachers, provides guidance and steps for teachers to update and utilize their promethean boards without having to ask their technology coordinator. It provides visuals along with step by step directions.

This learning centered, website from "YouTube" provides a tutorial covering the very basics of using Promethean Boards. It begins with the simple task of turning on the equipment. The many tools Promethean Boards have are covered and illustrations are given on how to utilize each of these.

Internet 4 Classrooms is a free web portal designed to assist anyone with finding great quality Internet resources to use in the classroom. It provides help in developing projects, technology tutorials and content material. There are an enormous amount of interactive websites listed on this site. I

CAST site which introduces us to the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) where learning is directed towards the learner's skills, needs and interests.

Simplek12 site concentrates on the instruction through tutorials and webinars, in the use of educational technology for teachers. The site also supplies social networking and collaboration opportunities for its members.

Teachers is a site which supports the learning and teaching process and is directed towards the teachers. It is directly oriented towards Differentiating Instruction and provides some ideas and strategies on how to start differentiating instruction in the classroom.
