Edmodo will be used during the class to give the participants a hands-on approach to learning the tool. WeVideo is a video-editing program that allows users to edit based on their experience level. This site was chosen to meet the needs of participants of all expertise. Novices can simply arrange their videos and export, while advanced users can create transitions, composites, titles, and more.

Twitter is a social media site. Using such in the classroom has proven beneficial. As a teacher, I can remind students quickly about homework that is coming due soon or share a picture with them of something we did in class. It really allows a teacher to reach the students where they are. Although, I have learned not to read their tweets (they are sophomores in high school)!

Gliffy's offer learners and instructors the ability to design and share various types of charts for their assignments, projects, and lessons. I liked Gliffy as apposed to other online chart sites because it has HTML and Flash capabilities as well as the ability to work collaboratively on the diagramming software activities.

Screenr allows the user to record a five minute video. The benefit of the time limit of five minutes is that you have to be concise in your video creation. The overall screencasting experience is beneficial because if you are having individuals involved in the process of a common project (e.g. creating a blog or a Facebook group) everyone can get the same instruction and be ready to move on to the main portion of the project.

Screenr allows users to create screencasts to share their knowledge. Features of screenr allow users to record directly on their Mac or PC without installing or downloading software. Once the screencast is made, it can be embedded on sites and blogs. One way that screenr supports essential learning is by addressing the modality and multimedia principles. Screenr seems to be more effective for creating tutorials.

Google DOCS is an online site that allows you to edit information online. Documents may include Word, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings and forms. Users have to have a Google Account to use this service. Google Docs allows users to work individually or collaboratively in a group. This is a good benefit to have in education with the use of cooperative learning and project based learning.

The presentation feature of google docs will allow for easy use for my audience. The tool is simple and doesn't come with the overwhelming features of MS Office PowerP Point. Teachers will use this tool to practice developing a short 3-slide story on the first 3 days of school. This tool is also beneficial because, teachers can again collaborate, and share their materials.
