The purpose of this site is to create many different kinds of rubrics. A workshop participant can use a rubric to determine how much they learned during the workshop and self-assess if they have met the workshop's objectives. This site is exemplary because it leads the user step-by-step through the creation of a rubric. The site contains templates for all subject areas. Users can also search for and use rubrics that have already been created.

This site is a must see for all educators who are creating problem based learning or projects. Teachers can create their own template or use the read- made templates. The file can be exported for use or saved for future editing.

The video uses a learner-centered approach to technology because according to Mayer, it does "compliment human abilities, aid activities that we are poorly suited and enhances the development for which we are ideally suited" (Mayer, 2009, p. 13)." This video presentation provides teachers with information on how to make the SMART Board accessible to all students. The required active engagement for this video is cognitive because the focus is on learner adding information to their memory. The three web sites that I selected that include multimedia artifacts for active learning: 1) http://www.learner.org/ The learner.org website is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on using multimedia technology as an aid to human cognition (Mayer, p. 13 2009). It uses film clips to demonstrate the practical applications of various mathematical concepts to real life situations. It builds a connection of what the students are studying to a concrete example (visual) to create a clearer mental picture form prior knowledge to new knowledge that is being discovered. 2) http://pearsonmylabandmastering.com/ The My Lab web site is a behavioral activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site focuses on rewarding students for the correct responses (excellent) or punished for the incorrect ones (try again). The underlying metaphor is that of drill-and-practice system, so multimedia is a vehicle for rewarding correct responses and punishing incorrect ones (Mayer, p.15, 2009). A student receives immediate feedback positive or negative and strengthens a response system to proceed or provide reinforcement of the content. 3) http://webgraphing.com/ The web graphing web site is a cognitive activity. This web site accomplishes the learner-centered approach. The web site provides engagement between the student and the graphing calculator. Multimedia learning is a sense-making activity in which the learner seeks to build a coherent mental representation from the presented material (Mayer, p. 17, 2009). A website where you can create your own animated videos. This is the main presentation and focus of my workshop. It has tutorials and step by step instructions on how to create an animated video of your choice.

GoAnimate! allows teachers to quickly create animated lessons. The site offers a variety of options for setting, images, and avatars. Users can use the text-to-speech feature or record their own voices to narrate the videos. These videos can be used to quickly create engaging videos to present content to learners. GoAnimate! can be used to help learners manage essential processing by using the principles of multimedia to create an effective presentation. It is better than other sites because it is so user friendly, and animations can be created quickly.

This website lets you create an animated video for use in your classroom. View the video on their introduction page to learn about the features and options. A teacher could also let students have the option of animating a presentation for the class to help engage student creativity.

What it is: Tiki-Toki provides a free timeline creator that allows users to create original and creative timelines on any subject matter. Why it's better: Tiki-Toki is a web-based software that requires no prior downloading. With a premium subscription, users may collaborate on a single timeline. In addition, the software allows users to insert images, sounds, and/or videos into their timelines. Users can create multiple categories using different color schemes all within the same timeline. Timelines may also be embedded into individual websites for easy access.

Furthermore, they can embed graphics, videos, links, and information on each timeline item. Generative learning, or as Mayer (2009) described it, is cognitive processing to make sense of the material. This processing is supported by the site as learners can peruse through a time period to identify and demonstrate their understanding of major events. For English Language Learners, this tool allows learners to show what they understand even when they may not have all the language necessary to write an entire essay on a particular time period. o The site is relatively easy to use, but most importantly creates a superb final product. The timelines can be viewed in various ways including even a 3D view which can make history come alive for students.
