"Online streaming services aren't new. There are innumerable ways to stream audio and music online, but SoundCloud has some advantages over the competition. Founded in Berlin in 2007, SoundCloud has since expanded to an extensive app that encompasses a streaming service, a distribution platform and an online community. For musicians, it's a great way to upload original music to share with your fans. For fans, it's easy to keep tabs on your favorite artists and stream on continuous play. And increasingly more for other types of media, SoundCloud provides a way to stream embeddable audio pieces for news and sports media outlets. Once you decide what's best for you, getting started with SoundCloud is simple. Check out some of the best and most useful SoundCloud features below in our beginner's guide."

"Lately we've been hearing from more and more folks about how they're using Chromebooks, especially from classroom teachers, where there has been a rapidly growing movement towards using Google Apps for Education. It's no big surprise then that we've received quite a few requests to bring TechSmith's products to the Chrome platform, and it's our pleasure to announce that this is exactly what we're doing, with TechSmith Snagit for Chrome!"

This looks very interesting. The potential is huge for students to develop apps for the Android platform. How can apple beat this one if they have locked down their apps store? The great thing about App inventor is that it looks like it has been modelled on Scratch 'Blocks' of building scripts. My Grade 5 and 6's (some whiz kids lower) would love to get their hands on this. The potential for them to develop their own apps for perhaps an Android tablet or smart phone is enormous. Rich and authentic possibilities for learning. Have DEECD made a wrong choice in going with the ipad?
The graphic below pits our social network usage against the huge adoption of mobile phones - currently at 4.6 billion worldwide.
Facebook, with over 500 million users, is still around 10 times smaller than the worldwide mobile market. Even web-based e-mail, which accounts for over 800 million users collectively, barely holds a candle to the mobile juggernaut.
The key here is convergence. Where do all these social platforms intersect with mobile, thus becoming "GeoSocial?"
If you don't put tribe leaders in place, the community will fall away," he says, adding that the tool needs to be relevant to individual users.

"Still trying to get your employees to embrace the company wiki and other recent collaboration tools? Sorry, the world has moved on. Four years since the birth of "Enterprise 2.0", many wikis have been abandoned, as companies find it takes more to enthuse staff to share than just building a platform and expecting them to come."

"2010 will be forever commemorated as the year Twitter matured from a cool but undecided teenager into a more confident and assertive young adult. While there's still much room to mature and develop, Twitter's new direction is crystallizing. With a new look, Dick Costolo as the new CEO, and an oversold new advertising platform, Twitter is growing into something not yet fully identifiable, but formidable nonetheless."
