Google Books opens for Australia 8/11/2011

"Australia finally has its first digital technology curriculum which is mandatory for all Australian children from Foundation, the name replacing kindergarten, to Year 8. The Technologies area now has two individual but connected compulsory subjects: Design and Technologies, where students use critical thinking to create innovative solutions for authentic problems Digital Technologies, where students using computational thinking and information systems to implement digital solutions."

The National Public Toilet Map (the Toilet Map) shows the location of more than 14,000 public and private public toilet facilities across Australia. Details of toilet facilities can also be found along major travel routes and for shorter journeys as well. Useful information is provided about each toilet, such as location, opening hours, availability of baby change rooms, accessibility for people with disabilities and the details of other nearby toilets.

All proceeds will be used to support existing and future deployments in remote Australia and the Pacific.

Interesting information although it is not Australian. It would be great to see this kind of research done in Australia as we have a great deal of differences in attitude and management of this issue than our northern neighbours.

Earlier this year, the Federal Court of Australia made a decision on this very question when a senior public servant was sacked due to looking at legal pornography, using his own internet connection, in his own home. The only problem was that the employee viewed the material using the work laptop which was monitored by the employers.
