We got so many additions and updates to our 2011 list we thought it was time to bring you the most up-to-date list for 2012. So, without further ado, here's the 2012 A-Z list of educational Twitter hashtags. We went through all the comments on the 2011 version, wrote down all the Twitter and Facebook updates, and compiled this list over the course of several months. What follows is our best effort to bring you the biggest and baddest list of hashtags.

"In 2009, we shared our favorite tools for teachers on Twitter, with 100 resources for managing feeds, finding followers, and tackling classroom groups on the social media site. Since then, many tools have been revamped, replaced, or simply aren't available anymore. So we've revised our our original 2009 list to get you started or up to date.

How about having students generate the list i.e. find a bunch of resources on a particular topic (Although sign-on via FBook/Twitter might be a problem). They can then vote for the resources they find most helpful, thereby helping the next bunch of students that come along to that topic

Tweet Binder allows you to search for a hashtag and add that collection of tweets to a 'binder'. You can then search for keywords within that list of tweets. This could be a useful tool if you are following a key story via a hashtag. The free tool also offers analytics so you can see contributors (people who tweeted with that hashtag) and the potential reach of the tweets.
