Engineering Interact - Interactive science & engineering for 9-11 year olds - 0 views

Designed for ages 9-11, these interactive investigations are perfect for differentiation. Investigations include Forces and Motion, Earth and Beyond, Electricity, Light, and Sound. The activities in this site would be great for the IWB , to reinforce concepts. Creating a response sheet to match the online activity would be useful for assessment. There are several levels for each topic. It would be best to provide a link to the specific module to coincide with instruction.

Communicating Information via Poster design - 0 views

  •
This a great guide for teaching some elementary principles (ages 9-11) of poster (graphic) design. It covers topics such as layout, color, text, and use of images. It could be used as for whole class discussion or as an independent task for students with good comprehension skills. A rubric for visual information literacy component of a larger project could easily be constructed from this activity.

Information Literacy - Kidspiration - Learners - 0 views

I'm not sure if this would be a useful resource or not. You decide! The unit illustrates different ways of organising information graphically and illustrates a range of "concept mapping" applications using examples created with Kidspiration. The unit is not a tutorial in how to use the software, as excellent tutorials are provided with the program. It is intended to stimulate interest and creativity by providing examples and links to websites where there are files that you can download for pupils to use.
