Fun way to encourage student writing in any subject. Using a photo of of almost anything, coupled with imagination, students can create and record a talking animation.

In WordWorld, words come alive, words save the day, and words become a child's best friend. Part of the pre-school tv series. Very engaging! Off computer activities to reinforce concepts.
Click on the characters and try to find the hidden words.
Teachers can create an account for school. Provides practice and quizzes. I also like SpellingTube which has videos created by students (UK accent) to reinforce spelling.

Another math center activity once students understand how to play.

Play by yourself or against a friend to form pairs. Match numbers, shapes, fractions, or multiplication facts to equivalent representations. The game can be used to practice facts by using the clear pane mode, or for an added challenge, play the game with the windows closed.
Pupils navigate their way around the two woods and use a camera to take photos of items of interest. Once they have taken each photograph a real image appears, together with more information about what they have seen. Once both woods have been visited, multiple choice questions test recall and understanding.
The activity works well in an ICT suite for individual exploration and discovery or it can be used as a shared pupil experience using an interactive whiteboard - particularly helpful if the class includes non-readers. It is a great introduction to a real woodland visit.
Some short games for young learners K-3. Great for increasing prociency with a mouse/trackpad and clicking. Wide variety of games Teacher guidance is needed as there are no audio instructions and students will need to learn not to click on a sponsor's ad when they win! A few activties involve reading.
An appealing animation of animals which live on the farm. It is excellent for promoting language development. It has word banks so that the site can be used as a stimulus for a story or description of a setting.
