This is a great site for searching whatever educational topics you're interested in. As I've only searched so many things, I can't speek for every single topic you might have... However, I have found this site a great source when I'm looking for information that google doesn't seem willing to yield.

This was a little more difficult, because nothing came to mind when I first thought about it. However, I took a good amount of time to look through search engines and see what kind of websites are out there in order to get a feel for what I liked and did not like. This is what I found.

    http://thestorystarter.com/
This is one of the links provided by the creative writer link that I enjoy. For some reason I have come to hate these tacky kind of websites. Stories take immense creativity and this website doesn't necessarily offer support or information on what writing really can mean and be.

The site contains a lot of the things that I really enjoy. They're very clear about their purpose and the site is simplified, but there are simply too many pop-ups and annoying things happening on the screen when you visit. It's hard to look around and peruse the site when you have so many distractions involved. I feel this would have to be the case of a site getting popular and giving way to advertisements and gimmicks.
    http://www.newcurriculum.com/index.php
This was a site suggested to me a while ago and that I favorite/bookmarked when I first became interested in teaching. However, since then it has become outdated and doesn't have enough content to be feasible.
    http://teacher2b.com/
Simply too basic and lacking in credentials. The design itself seems to give us the feel that it isn't authentic.
    http://www.theonion.com/
    Advertisements, distractions, lack of authenticity.

I'm still not sure how to use Diigo's annotation features. Trying to figure it out, but I wanted to get my favorites/least favorites on the table before I leave for the weekend.

    http://www.homeschool.com/articles/top100-2008/default.asp
This is a website that my girlfriend's mom claims to have used a great deal while homeschooling her children. She described in detail how useful all the links are and how focused the site has become on helping the parents of home schoolers.
    www.brainpop.com
Just saw that this one has already been found. I agree completely though, this site is so worth signing up as it brings up some unique perspectives and thoughts. And it really is very well organized
    www.lib.unc.edu
I am particularly fond of this website. As a UNC undergrad I can't express how amazing it was to find out that e-book's were available to me at the touch of a button. If I needed to look up something on blacksmithing, I searched the texts and found a book to read. I enjoy how quick and easy this is compared with heading to the library to hunt down a book.
    http://www.ncte.org/
Clean, crisp website. The navigation is easy and it doesn't come with any kind of pop-ups or annoying gadgets. The information provides a number of useful articles and a wide variety of content. I also like their attempt to stay modern (such as the fact that they can be followed on twitter)

I remember being showed this by a teacher my freshman year. The site had a lot of wonderful links and ideas and I would always go back to it if I was searching for a particular link. I've used it a great deal (even though it lacks a lot of the organization I usually value and it feels all over the place).
