http://www.homeschool.com/articles/top100-2008/default.asp This is a website that my girlfriend's mom claims to have used a great deal while homeschooling her children. She described in detail how useful all the links are and how focused the site has become on helping the parents of home schoolers. www.brainpop.com Just saw that this one has already been found. I agree completely though, this site is so worth signing up as it brings up some unique perspectives and thoughts. And it really is very well organized www.lib.unc.edu I am particularly fond of this website. As a UNC undergrad I can't express how amazing it was to find out that e-book's were available to me at the touch of a button. If I needed to look up something on blacksmithing, I searched the texts and found a book to read. I enjoy how quick and easy this is compared with heading to the library to hunt down a book. http://www.ncte.org/ Clean, crisp website. The navigation is easy and it doesn't come with any kind of pop-ups or annoying gadgets. The information provides a number of useful articles and a wide variety of content. I also like their attempt to stay modern (such as the fact that they can be followed on twitter) http://education-portal.com/articles/25_Helpful_Websites_for_Creative_Writers.html I remember being showed this by a teacher my freshman year. The site had a lot of wonderful links and ideas and I would always go back to it if I was searching for a particular link. I've used it a great deal (even though it lacks a lot of the organization I usually value and it feels all over the place).
www.lib.unc.edu - I like the buttons, especially the e-research button and the way the search is broken down into categories. When people search for stuff they often only have a hunch about what they are looking for. The categories help people confirm their hunch.
