    There is NO Negative part of a exercise movement.Going Up, or lifting a weight is what most people call the Positive part of the exercise movement. What most people call the Negative part of a exercise movement (going down) is Actually the MOST Positive and productive part. There are 3 strength levels trained when you exercise.(1) Concentric (lifting the weight) (2) Static strength (holding a weight in a given positive without lowering it). And (3) Eccentric (lowering the weight slow and with control without just dropping it) Only 1/3 of your strength levels are trained lifting the weight; 2/3rds are trained with the lowering of the weight. So what most people call the Negative (going down) is actually the MOST Positive and productive part of the movement where 2 strength levels are trained (Static and Eccentric). Always BURST UP, and then go SLOW DOWN, lowering your weight twice as slow and under control as the speed at which you lift it.
