IAT - Implicit Association Test It is well known that people don't always 'speak their minds', and it is suspected that people don't always 'know their minds'. Understanding such divergences is important to scientific psychology. This web site presents a method that demonstrates the conscious-unconscious divergences much more convincingly than has been possible with previous methods. This new method is called the Implicit Association Test, or IAT for short. In addition, this site contains various related information. The value of this information may be greatest if you try at least one test first...

    Great resource!
  •
This website gives a great overview of many of the most important fields, methods, perspectives, psychologists, and studies in Psychology. It is intended for students writing their A-level Psychology, and is thus an excellent introductory website for anyone who is new to Psychology or is refreshing his or her memory.
  •
I find Simply Psychology for many reasons, not the least of which is that it is accessible language. But it has some studies that are reported in enough detail to be replicated, a reference to the original publication, and links to terrific outside documents which are often the original publication. It takes some clicking around to find studies, but well worth it.

Not really a 'Psychology' site but it does have forums for Psychology where students can interact with each other. The revision methods are great too, I encourage my students to sign up for a free account in class and we spend time turning text into other revision methods.

Research Methods in Psychology ← Ethical Considerations - 4 views

  •
In the past, researchers performed all kinds of questionable experiments in the name of science. For example, in one famous experiment, psychologist Stanley Milgram led his subjects to believe that they were giving painful electric shocks to other people. Many people consider this experiment unethical because it caused the subjects emotional discomfort. Today, researchers must abide by basic ethical norms when conducting research. Most important, they must consider whether they might harm their human or animal subjects while doing research. Ethics Ethics refers to a system of moral values or the way people distinguish right from wrong. The American Psychological Association (APA) requires all its members to adhere to its code of ethics, which applies to the treatment of both humans and animals.
