ReadWorks is a free service that has cataloged hundreds of lesson plans and more than one thousand non-fiction reading passages aligned to Common Core standards. With a free ReadWorks account you can search for lessons and reading passages by grade and skill. In your account you can create digital binders of the lesson plans and reading passages that you want to use.  Wonderful site to use for reading assessments or reading prompts.

The Constitution Center offers a free interactive U.S. Constitution with lesson plans, activities, games, videos, and historical documents. Students can explore the Constitution by article, amendment, or specific issue

Things we used to share in person - and in private - can now be broadcast to thousands, instantly. Sometimes we type things we would never say to someone's face. As a result, new issues like forced sexting, textual harassment and cyberbullyiing have emerged, which now affect a majority of young people in the U.S. This site attemps to teach and inform you how to prevent these things from happening to you. The videos and short clips are great for embeding in a wiki site for you own lesson plan on internet safety. All free for your use!

A good blog (actually looks like a newpaper page) that has lessons where students are asked to give their opinion on a topic. Very good questions to develop reasoning, judgement and decision making skills. These questions can be used to link in your own blog, wiki, or web tool (like the collaborize classroom). Students can comment on the blog site their opinion. Nice to get your school recognized.

This is an app for the Ipad market, the android version is not out yet but they are developing one. This seem excellent for ESL learners or those learning a foreign language. Over 1500 hand-picked words, phrases, audio clips, & pictures jam-packed into 50 lessons-your brain will always have something to chew on!
