Disclosing genderqueer identity for medical professionals - 0 views

  •
Many nonbinary and genderqueer identities face a difficult time when attempting to transition. While transgender health care framework is available for dealing with such instances, many health professionals simply are not aware or educated on the subject to accommodate to the needs of nonbinary or genderqueer people. The lack of awareness on the subject thus can cause complications or obstacles for people as people can be denied access to these services if the health professional believes that the person is not transgender.

I really enjoyed this article. It's nice to inform people about the reasons why people struggle with finding access to good mental health care. A lot of the world is misinformed as to why people are unable to access help for their mental issues.
  •
I too enjoyed this article. As I'm aspiring to be a psychiatrist, issues such as these are very important to me, especially considering that I have suffered from mental illness as well. There are indeed many stigmas that surround mental illness, and we as a society are just barely beginning to understand the sensitive nature of these illnesses, as well as how to effectively treat them.
  •
Thank you for sharing this article! I believe it's important to understand why it's so hard for so many people to get treatment for mental illness. It's not as easy as go to the gym or just don't think about it. It's important to get rid of the stigma and economic barriers that surround mental illness and treatment.

This is an interesting article, It would be good to have a comparison with previous data from healthcare workers reviewing their stress levels before the pandemic to the data from the article and see what the difference is in their quality of life and their opinion of the healthcare system.

I'm so blessed for these health care workers, My mom is a nurse and she's even traveling to help with covid. I always feel so bad watching my mom so exhausted from wearing 2 masks and trying to keep my dad who is high risk safe.
