The BBC has excellent educational games, activities, and resources.  The BBC Science Clips are a collection of science related activities and games for students who are 5 to 11 years old.  Students can grow virtual plants, experiment with pushes and pulls, hearing and sound, forces and movement, electricity, rocks and soils, simple machines, light, solids and liquids, friction, habitats, life cycles, changing states of matter, reversible and irreversible changes, forces, and much more.

Flip the Doctor's Office? Khan Academy Inspired Flip of Doctor Office Visit | TechCrunch - 0 views

As you can see in the video, technology has brought a human element back into the classroom making it more interactive and tuned to specific kids' needs. Why limit this to students? Why not use this model to help improve health outcomes? In fact, we may not have a choice with the ever-increasing shortage of primary care physicians. One can look to what happened after Romneycare was implemented as a preview of what is to come. The shortage of primary care providers only increased. Simply trying to put family physicians on a faster hamster wheel isn't the solution.

Father And Son Send iPhone Into Space And Record Incredible Video (VIDEO) - 0 views

  •
A father and son from Brooklyn, New York sent an iPhone into the stratosphere a few weeks ago to record a video of the earth's curvature. The two spent eight months researching and testing their homemade craft, which was made of a weather balloon and a styrofoam case for the iPhone, before launching in Newburgh, NY. The phone apparently braved winds of 100 miles-per-hour and temperatures as cold as 60 below zero (the iPhone was smartly packed with hand warmers).
