Pope calls for peace around the world in Easter message - 0 views

  •
During an annual Easter message Pope Benedict the XVI called peace in the Midwest and areas in Africa. The pope also urged the restoration of "peaceful coexistence" in Ivory Coast, where a political stalemate led to violence. The pope also said that young people of Western Nations should work together for a common good. He also said that the people of these nations should build a society where poverty is defeated. Finally, the pope hopes that the victims in Japan will find consolation and hope in the after math.

It would be nice if his ideas actually became true but they probably never will.
  •
People do need peace right now. There is so much fighting going on throughout the world that could be stopped.

Vindication of Obama's strategy - 0 views

  •
"The killing of Osama bin Laden is a powerful argument for emphasizing counterterrorism over nation building in the war on terror." says Fareed Zakaria. It would be too generous to say that Osama Bin Ladens' death has to do with Obama's war on terrorism strategy.
  •
There going to get back at us.
  •
All Obama's strategy was to get high polls for next election and lieing about Osama bin laden dead is the perfect plain because he is wanted but He is a CIA agent, Why would they kill there own people?

Those kids were lucky they joined the boy scouts. This was probably a great learning experience for all of them.
  •
First off the boy shouldve never been out of the site of the leaders of the scouts. It is a god thing that he has made it home safe and sound and was rescued.
  •
I think they were lucky that the plane came to save them. They were lucky they were in boy scouts so they new what to do to stay safe and warm.
  •
If they weren't Boy Scouts and knew how to survive they may have died. Boy Scouts could've saved their lives.

  •
if they would have not took off then they would not have got lost in the first place

I chose this because it was so sad and also just sick for someone to do that to anyone, especially an old woman.

The morality of human nature can never be settled as eternally good or bad, but always unpredictable. There's ones who create inventions, cure diseases, and build nations, yet you can't balance life without having negatives. Its a shame what happens to innocent victims these days, but we can't control human emotion/consciousness. All we can do is protect who and what we know, but learn from the mistakes of our brothers and sisters for we can do better.

U.S. population is beginning to slump. - 1 views

  •
The United States was once one of the most rapidly growing countries in the world, but that is not the case now. Slow population growth can be a good thing, as the U.S. is in a recession the way it is, and more people can make it worse, especially with jobs currently being difficult to find. From the 90's to 2000, the U.S. was growing at 13.2%, and from 2000 to 2010, it has grown 9.7%. 43% of the growth is Hispanics, which shows how rapidly we our adapting to a diverse community. Studies show that the U.S. is becoming a middle aged country, which will most likely harm us if we don't get out of the recession, because that will be even more money being drained once all the middle aged people are able to collect Social Security.

Majority are apparently civilians, the group's list describes a few of the dead as members of the army or police. The U.N. Security Council considers a statement condemning the violence. The United Nations has said it has information that 76 people were killed last week on Friday, possibly more.

Knoebels - 0 views

  •
Opening day at Knoebels was very busy opening day. The numbers were up five percent more than last year. Knoebels has been honored by the National Amusement Park Historical Association as its favorite traditional amusement park in the country. They recently made the park smoking restricted. There are now designated smoking areas. Until Memorial Day, Knoebels is only open weekends.
  •
I think it is a very good thing that there is smoking restrictions in the park. Many people will disagree but it is for the better. It's also good to hear that Knoebel's numbers are up this year.
