Keizer Home Page - 1 views

  •
This is Keizers home page, which included a lot of photos of his work, and more specific things like his inspiration, influences, media and design philosophy. I found it interesting that his design philosophy was, "visual imagery that is thought provoking, satire, awakening, open ended with an emphasis on universal threads and concepts that we share collectively as a race". Insinuating more emphasis on race than a country as a whole.

Egypt's youths feel disenfranchised after revolution - Los Angeles Times - 1 views

  •
Egypt's 2011 uprising was often referred to as a youth revolution, but two years after longtime President Hosni Mubarak was forced out of office, many in the younger generation say that they are not represented by the Brotherhood or any other oppositional forces. The demands of the revolution the youth led have not been met. Conditions are worsening. The youth are increasingly disillusioned with the idea of political hope and feel like leaving the country may be their best option for fulfillment. The youth feel their is a large disparity between their ideas and demands and the political desires of the older generation who is favored for their wisdom, experience, and resources. Although the youth have popular support, they lack the resources to successfully run a political race and are therefore left out of the process of change. This means it is left up to the older generation of politicians to appease their demands, if only to prevent more protests.

Why I don't believe people who say they loathe Islam but not Muslims | Andrew Brown - 0 views

  •
It is a trope among people who loathe and fear Islam that their fear and loathing has nothing in common with racism because Islam is not a race, the implication being that hating Muslims is rational and wise whereas hating black people is deeply irrational and stupid. Very relevant topic to my Research project, really brings home why people who have a prejudice towards Islam make tolerant people uncomfortable. Hopefully this article can influence others who feel the need to express their hatred for a religion they don't know much about.

To Stop Iran's Bomb, Bomb Iran - 0 views

  •
US Republican, John R. Bolton, declares an arms race has begun and the only way to stop Iran's nuclear program is metaphorically beating them to the punch. As of now the Obama administration does not foresee Iran negotiating any way out of it's nuclear program with the United States.
