    The Mosul Dam is an incredibly important strategic location in the war between IS and Iraqi and Kurdish forces. This is because the dam controls water flow and generates electricity for most of Iraq. After it was captured by IS on 09/11/14, President Obama authorized air support for Iraqi and Kurdish forces, in response to the treat posed by the flooding of the Tigris river. The dam was recaptured, but the third largest dam in Iraq, the Fallujah dam, is still under IS control.

    This article is about the Iraq divisions which undermine the Iraqi purpose of war. This is a result of an unstable foundation to build plans off of. They are trying to find foundation because they do not want to fall back into an IS state five years down the line.

    After the city of Kobani had all but been lost, people had given up. But after a rejuvenated effort by airstrikes, and the Kurdish fighters, it is now getting more support. Iraqi Kurdish fighters of the peshmerga fighters have now entered through Turkey. They bring with them several weapons.

    This is the first indication that I got that shows that there is a separate provincial government in Northern Iraq that has almost full autonomy. They also have a stronger combat force than the Iraqi government.
