This article was written during International Women's day and hightlights what women face under repressive regime. "At the hands of the coup regime in Egypt, women suffer horrific crimes including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrest, violent rape, displacement, severe torture (often leading to permanent disability), sham military trials, unjust death sentences, enforced disappearances, brutal degrading treatment of political prisoners' wives and daughters while visiting relatives in the military junta's detention centers."

In Egypt, university students have gathered together against the coup forces to protest and make clear their determination to protect their rights. University students against the coup have joined together to lead a series of protest. The article makes clear that the Students Against the coup, do not seek to instigate violence, but will use self-defense if needed which is rightly justified in accordance to religion and  international law . 

Saturday October 11 signalled the start of the new academic year in Egyptian universities, delayed this year by the authorities from September to mid-October to allow them time to prepare their security forces for the expected demonstrations.

On the Muslim Brotherhood's own news website, they are claiming that hundres of women have been harassed under the new coup in Egypt. This relates to yesterdays National Women's Day and how the Brotherhood is saying that the regime is treating the women of the Brotherhood unfairly and abusing them in numerous ways. Since the July 2013 coup against legitimacy, women became many of the victims. They killed nearly 100 women and girls, and expelled 526 female students from Egypt's universities.
