This Google Chrome extension helps you better manage the amount of time you spend on FB and other social sites. It will actually lock you out of visiting the sites again until the next day (or a time you select). Sounds like a good way to build self-discipline.

This article helped me to reflect on the way I encourage the use of technology and how to make its use an experience more reflective of what is presented in the CCSS and 21st century learning. What is your response to the article? Agree, disagree? What model(s) do you see yourself using? What movement would you like to make in your approach?

Especially with the CCSS, teachers/admin. need to take a look at how grading reflects assessment practices. What do the grades you give really REFLECT about what students CAN DO and know? Mathmaster.org is a free resource for your school where students can make use of the extensive video library (Khan Academy) and endless supply of printable math worksheets from any computer with access to the web. The video library covers K-12 math, science and other topics. Each video is approximately 10 minutes long and easy to follow. The website gives you the ability to easily customize each worksheet to target your student's specific needs

Snaplr is a simple way to capture and annotate your desktop's activity. Its Free to download. After taking your screenshot, you can highlight a specific screenshot area further with a set of drawing tools. Copy your screenshot to the clipboard and paste it to an email or save it as a png attachment instead.  Works great in Gmail and Outlook. I like using this in Windows as Google Chrome doesn't have the best screen capture extensions right now that can annotate as easily as this tool.
