"American Sign Language University" at Lifeprint.com is a site for ASL students and teachers. It helps a person find information and resources to help improve their signing. It includes free self-study lessons including an ASL dictionary, signing videos, a printable sign language alphabet chart, fingerspelling help, Deaf Culture study materials, 100 first signs for parents to teacher their child, and resources to help a person learn sign language.

Here is a link to the history of Chinese Sign Language. "Chinese Sign Language (CSL) has been developing mostly since the late 1950's and its signs are like written Chinese characters."

Online ASL full Dictionary - This site has many various dictionaries from what we have for class to parents waning to learn sign language for their babies. "Free Sign Language Dictionary Prior to the development of sign language, deaf individuals often found it difficult to communicate with those who can hear and vice versa. Sign language changed all that, creating a solid and reliable form of communication for use in the deaf community."

This site is devoted to deaf videos. Most are just youtube style videos that people make. It's amazing how fast some of the people sign. It seems impossible to ever be able to understand what they are signing, but I suppose it's just like learning any new language...with time and practice it becomes easier.

This is website shows Mexican Sign Language. There is a youtube video that has a guy demonstrating some signs and there is a link above the video with a Mexican Sign Language dictionary. I thought it was really cool so check it out!

This software is a BSL Finger Spelling simulator that will fingerspell any word that you type into it. This piece of software is an excellent and fun way of learning to fingerspell, to improve your receptive skills, or as a teaching resource using the two handed manual alphabet.

You can download ASL related apps from iTunes. It received some negative reviews but it's a pretty cool idea....

I had a hard time finding true deaf ecards. I was hoping to see animated deaf ecards that actually had a character signing. This is the best site I could find. All of the cards are static and there is nothing on the inside.I think Hallmark has not realized that most deaf ppl can't read.

Since we are focusing on signs from restaurants I thought it would be interesting to see if there are any restaurants owned by or for the deaf. Then I found this article about a place in San Francisco that sells pizza. Enjoy.

That's a really cool article! I hope they make!! I'm not sure how big the deaf community is in SF, but hopefully it's enough to keep them going. I wish more hearing ppl would eat there. Next time I'm in SF I will stop by.

I thought this was a really cool site because it is a good way to practice watching fingerspelling. Even though fingerspelling isn't used that much, I still think it is a good thing to understand it well enough.
