Vermont considers a bill to protect teens from prosecution for "sexting."

This article covers research by Turku University on the effects of cyberbullying. The text explains the possible negative effects that online bullying can have on the victims as well as the bullies themselves. I found it interesting and somewhat sad that teens can't get away from bullies anymore-- while being home and out of school was often a getaway from bothersome peers, that is becoming less and less the case.

A really interesting website i found during our teens and sexting section of this class, adds a totally different perspecticve.

Family Education has put together a blog to help parent educate their teen of the danger of sexting.

Sharethis artilce with teens and children in your household to show them how bullying can seem harmless to one person, but can easily end someone else life.

This is a Wall Street Journal article from January 12, 2011. It is a refreshing view of teenagers doing something wonderful as we always seem to read of the pitfalls of being a teen. The article references our PEW readings on technology useage by age group.

This talks about teenagers and them downloading. It has a question and answer text to give the teens a chance to ask questions.

Good article that mentions both positives and negatives with teen having phones and also offers up suggestions with phone companies to choose from..

This could be a landmark case when it comes to cyber crime and the laws.

This is a recent article I found that relate's to this weeks topic of social networking. The article discusses the uses of social networking for older generations, and provides many statistics, some of which come from the Pew Project we study. As the article shows, older generations use social networking for many of the same uses as teens and young adults. The article may be help you think of questions related to this week's discussions. Sexting is, in fact, a very big deal. Not because sexual curiosity and boundary pushing aren't normal parts of growing up; they are. The thing is, on the Internet, nothing ever truly vanishes.

After a teen was beaten to death in a boot camp for treating internet addiction, China has banned physical punishment for the offense.

This girl sent pics to her boyfriend over a year ago and is now recieving phoe calls from strangers becasue the pics ended up on the Internet.
