At a time when tech-savvy educators are touting the power of technology to transform teaching and learning, thousands of attendees at the National Educational Computing Conference gathered here this week to discuss and debate how to make the best use of those resources and extend their use to more of the nation's classrooms.

Say you're an investor and you want to see how two companies are faring against each other on the market. The answer includes specifics, like how much of the fish crop was farmed versus what was captured. Such data could be used to argue policy points or to debate whether or not certain industries are sustainable.

They're often appealing and fun for students to use, while at the same time ideal for encouraging participation, collaboration, and interaction.
