The FLVS library is a collection of links and sites that have been reviewed for educational value, currency, and accuracy.

How about a quick lesson plan? How abouttwitter.png a way to keep a shorthand record of daily class activities? Then how about twitter? Start a Twitter profile (a separate one just for teaching, so not to annoy your friends), and at the end of each class day jot down what you did in class (see below for my Monday, Feb. 11th). Networking with other subject area teachers will encourage collaboration on similar lessons. And possibly (though we teachers would hope not in a 1984 kind of way), an administrator could link in and keep tabs. If I were a curriculum person in an administration, the first thing I would do would be to set up accounts for each teacher to post one daily update.

Turn a boring old spreadsheet into an interactive web-based map, timeline, or table with some simple HTML using the free, open source Exhibit project. Exhibit takes data sets up to about 500 rows, plots locations on a Google Map, dates on an interactive timeline, and displays images and links in a tabular or thumbnail view. The viewer can sort, search, and filter data in any Exhibit view without reloading the page. You can make Exhibit do all this with a single HTML file and a spreadsheet-no hardcore programming required.

SurveyShare is a web site that lets you design and conduct online surveys. Your surveys and response data are hosted on our secure servers. Each survey is given a unique web address (URL) where respondents can take the survey. You can use SurveyShare to email this web address to your respondents, or you can distribute the URL yourself. Your survey's web address is a clickable HTML link you can paste into an email message or post on your web site.

What can I do with Symbaloo? With Symbaloo, you can now create your own desktop on internet, including your favorite websites and sources. The advantage is that you can navigate easily to the most important websites, without remembering the links.
