The SeaMonkey project is a community effort to develop the SeaMonkey all-in-one internet application suite (see below). Such a software suite was previously made popular by Netscape and Mozilla, and the SeaMonkey project continues to develop and deliver high-quality updates to this concept. Containing an Internet browser, email & newsgroup client, HTML editor, IRC chat and web development tools, SeaMonkey is sure to appeal to advanced users, web developers and corporate users.
Under the hood, SeaMonkey uses much of the same Mozilla source code which powers such successful siblings as Firefox, Thunderbird, Camino, Sunbird and Miro. Legal backing is provided by the Mozilla Foundation.
Ever wanted to take a crack at making a better version of the Yahoo search engine? Now's your chance.
Yahoo announced a new initiative Thursday called Build Your Own Search Service, or BOSS. It's a set of programming tools developers can use to tailor Yahoo's search index for their own use.
As part of the program's launch, Yahoo is making its web, news and images index available to developers immediately. BOSS will allow developers who sign up for a public API key to manipulate rankings and the overall appearance of the search pages, as well as create mashups of the data with other data sources.
Encouraging and enabling the development of tools to facilitate the use of the DOI® System and DOI® names by end users is a priority of the International DOI Foundation.
This page identifies tools that are in use and under development, with descriptions and links to their sources. More will be added as they become available. Other tools and projects offered by the Handle System developer community may also be of interest. We welcome your comments to contact@doi.org.

Welcome to the STEMworks! Change the Equation (CTEq) is proud to host this database of programs that deepen young people's learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The database aims to be a critical resource for funders, program developers and STEM advocates alike. Funders can find programs that maximize the return on their investment. Those who develop STEM learning programs can benchmark their work against successful exemplars. Advocates can point to excellent programs as they make the case for quality.

Often we search for meaningful ways to integrate digital technology in project based learning activities given to our students. We also would like our students to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts underlying the work - after all this is the purpose of the project.
Giving students the opportunity to complete and present their project through a digital lens has one great advantage - student engagement. This in turn causes students to develop a more in depth understanding of concepts.
Google Labs is a playground where our more adventurous users can play around with prototypes of some of our wild and crazy ideas and offer feedback directly to the engineers who developed them. Please note that Labs is the first phase in a lengthy product development process and none of this stuff is guaranteed to make it onto Google.com. While some of our crazy ideas might grow into the next Gmail or iGoogle, others might turn out to be, well, just plain crazy.
Recent advances in technology and nearly two decades of research into how students learn have come together in a series of programs that could represent the future of assessment.
Developed by researcher Mogens Jensen, these online programs reportedly can map a student's behavior, both mentally and emotionally, and then suggest a highly customized solution for growth as the student develops academically.

This short handbook provides guidance for policymakers struggling with two key issues: (1) What is the impact on student achievement of introducing ICTs in educational settings in developing countries? (2) How should this impact be measured, and what are the related issues, especially as they relate to Education For All and other Millennium Development Goals?
This Google Site has been set up by Dr. Helen Barrett to focus on the use of Google Apps to create ePortfolios. On this site, there are instructions on how to use the different elements of Google Apps to maintain e-portfolios.\n\nThere is also a Google Group on developing electronic portfolios in K-12 using Google Apps:\n* Group name: Using Google Apps for ePortfolios in K-12 Education\n* Group home page: http://groups.google.com/group/k12eportfolios\n* Group email address k12eportfolios@googlegroups.com\nI am hoping that other K-12 educators can join the group, and share their experiences developing ePortfolios with these free online tools. I recommend that if schools decide to use GoogleApps, they establish their own Google Apps for Education site, with their own domain name, as a quasi "walled garden" where student work can only be viewed by someone with an account within that domain.
