Web site dedicated to students, teachers, parents, and the general public-to read milestone documents, consider their meaning, discuss them, and decide which are the most significant and why. This initiative creates a number of ways to do that-through classroom activities and competitions, and votes.

Online document collaboration tool that is very easy to get started. Great for use in combination with Skype for feedback and interaction. 

Project Noah is a tool to explore and document wildlife and a platform to harness the power of citizen scientists everywhere.  The app is pretty intuitive and turns a smartphone into a scientific tool that takes advantage of the metadata that the phone can track as well as it's ability to gather digital image, audio, and text data. 

Absolutely love this site. All the video from C-Span, ever! Great source of primary source documentation for lots of different government studies. 

Use of an iPod for instructional purposes is cool, but for the work we are doing in Africa this kind of thinking becomes important. The iPod/iPhone can become a way for sharing/organizing/storing documents. Teachers can use the wireless component of the tool to share materials when they have opportunities to gather.

I don't mention Google Docs very often, but it's a great tool for creating all kinds of collaborative documents. Here's a wonderful example of how you could create a self grading quiz for your students using Google docs.

The Earth Science Literacy framework document of Big Ideas and supporting concepts is a community effort representing the current state-of-the-art research in Earth sciences. It has been written, evaluated, shaped, and revised by the top scientists working in Earth science. Because of its validity, authority, and succinct format, the ESL framework will be influential in a wide variety of scientific, educational, and political settings. * "Picturing the 1930s," a new educational web site created by the Smithsonian American Art Museum in collaboration with the University of Virginia, allows teachers and students to explore the 1930s through paintings, artist memorabilia, historical documents, newsreels, period photographs, music, and video. Using PrimaryAccess, a web-based teaching tool developed at the university's Curry Center for Technology and Teacher Education, visitors can select images, write text, and record narration in the style of a documentary filmmaker.

Through its Copyright Advisory Group, the Australian Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA) has published a Creative Commons information pack online, a bundle of eight documents that distills the basics of CC licensing and the philosophy behind it. This pack is a great resource for educators and students, and we encourage you to use it in your schools by adapting it however you like. Senior Capstone Project from SLA: "The Capstone Project at Science Leadership Academy is an opportunity for seniors to show the culmination of four years of intellectual growth towards an independent and self-directed learner who can contribute meaningfully to the community. It will enable students to focus their interests and curiosity into a coherent representation of how they think and what they believe as they leave high school. Longtime fan of Zotero! I'm glad they are getting access to new platforms. I switched from Firefox to Chrome a couple of years ago, and have missed being able to use the tool as effectively. I know they've had Chrome tools for a while, but now they also have effective (more effective, but not perfect) iPad apps as well. 

Keep this article close by, so when you need it, it will be available. I wouldn't be able to memorize all of the information, but when I am working on or in anyone of these products the cheat sheet would be a valuable resource for expanding my shortcut repertoire!
