Make-a-Map is BrainPOP's newest tool for concept mapping. Concept mapping gives students the chance to transform information into knowledge by making meaningful connections between their thoughts and ideas using BrainPOP images, keywords, and movie clips as resources to get them started.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is looking for classroom teachers who wish to improve their understandin of GIS (geographic information systems) and its application to wildlife management. Through a year-long program, Department educaton and GIS staff will serve as mentors to help teachers understand and apply GIS tools and content into their classroom instruction.

If you work with middle school and/or high school youth and want to incorporate technology into your curriculum, we invite you to participate in an exciting new project -- Map Your World -- an innovative, multi-platform project that places the power of new technologies into the hands of young change agents. This free web application lets you create pdf’s that are actually web forms that can be filled out directly on the pdf. 

Developed by the Astronomical Society of The Pacific and coordinated in Tucson by NOAO, this unique educational program offers teachers instruction in conducting hands-on inquiry-based science activities in their classrooms plus an astronomer partner with whom to present the activities.

The ThingLink Interactive Image Contest invites students to connect audio, video, images, and text in one cohesive presentation.  Students will dig deeper into content through research to present knowledge and ideas as they learn, practice and demonstrate digital literacy skills in image creation, selection, content curation, creativity, tagging and sharing.

Via Skype or blogging, teachers will be teamed up from January to June 2013 and encouraged to "connect" their classrooms together.

Unlike some other free pictures sites, images in Ookaboo are public domain or creative commons and can be used freely for blogs, web sites, schoolwork, publications, and other creative projects.
