It is a general right that applies even in situations where the law provides no specific authorization for the use in question—as it does for certain narrowly defined classroom activities.

US-BASED This code of best practices does not tell you the limits of fair use rights. Instead, it describes how those rights should apply in certain recurrent situations. Educators' and students' fair use rights may, of course, extend to other situations as well.

What is a Social Security Number? The Social Security Administration (SSA) of the United States issues social security numbers (SSNs), which are nine-digit identifying numbers. In addition to being used as an identity number for many other uses, the number is used to monitor people for tax purposes. Buy SSN Number The first social security numbers were given in 1936 after the Social Security Act was passed in 1935. The number has three components: an area number with the first three digits, a group number with the next two digits, and a serial number with the final four digits. Based on the zip code of the person's postal address, the SSA assigns the area number. The serial number is assigned consecutively within each group, and the group number is assigned at random. An individual receives the number when they make a social security card application. A social security number can be obtained without having a social security card. The number is primarily used for tax purposes, but many companies and government organizations also use it as an identifying number. Buy SSN Number What is the history of the SSN number? Only approximately 20 million individuals had them at the time. In the 1960s, the SSN gained in significance when the government started utilizing it to keep track of a person's Medicare coverage. The SSN replaced other identifiers as the principal one for tax reasons in the 1970s. The SSN also took over as the de facto national identity number in the 1980s. Why do we need a Soc

An online art project developed by Google, this site is a place for digital storytelling through pictures, not words. Students can work collaboratively to create a short animated story, with each animation building off the previous branches. Students can create their own seeds & invite others to grow a tree with them. Before students can create their own seeds, they do have to contribute to an already existing tree. If a student does not feel they can express their words with an animation, think about having the students pair up. Have one student become an author & write an outline of the story, while the other student draws the animation of the story.

Understanding the power of stories - The Learner's Way - 14 views

  •
We are the stories that we tell and it is the stories we share which unite us. This was the seed of an idea planted by a day with author, artist, musician and story teller Boori Pryor. Understanding the power that our stories have allows us to better value their role in our lives, to see them as more than recounts of the past or imaginings of the future. Stories should be viewed as the powerful agents that they are with the force to shape who we are as much as we shape them.

Ron Finley is not your typical gardener. His garden transformed the lives of the people in his barren community called South Los Angeles. Prior his initiative, for you to get fresh produce, you should brave driving 45 minutes. So to save on gas and beautify his front lawn, he planted food. Of course, he got apprehended for that. But 900 signatures got authorities off his back. Los Angeles Green Grounds was an organization inspired by his defiance to grow his own food. The neuroscience of online learning Registration, Adelaide - Eventbrite - 22 views

Neuroscience has shown that our brains are plastic and that education, gaming and the use of technology can change our brains' connectivity, function and structure. (1, 2) But learning is more than just biology - it is affected by our learning environment and the people with whom and from whom we learn. So how do you take what neuroscience reveals about the plastic, learning brain and combine it with educational research, expertise and common sense? Klevar, in association with Flinders University, are offering you the chance to explore this with Dr Paul Howard-Jones of the University of Bristol, researcher and author of "Introducing Neuroeducational Research: Neuroscience, Education and the Brain from Contexts to Practice".

Learning objectives, targets and goals - 13 views

"While the authors of The SIOP Model advocate for writing separate content and language objectives, others are advocating for the incorporation of language skills into content objectives. In either case, making language learning explicit benefits students as it clarifies what they should know and learn in a given lesson" (¶9). Some teachers also incorporate a third type of objective: behavioral. Behavioral objectives make explicit to students the actions and behaviors associated with classroom activities. Examples of behavioral objectives may include engaging in conversations, working in cooperative groups or delivering speeches" (¶10).
