Perhaps by walking alongside our students as they process through their information seeking, much as a mentor would accompany an apprentice? Learn how to help students through the information search process using a research model that provides a step-by-step process for guiding the research. A design that was developed for middle school is easily adaptable for upper elementary or extended to high school. Find out how at the high school level it has provided a framework for collaborative learning. Learn how the research model has been used to create a hybrid course where students are meeting face to face while simultaneously working completely in a collaborative digital environment. The key to guided research is building in zones of intervention through research journals where students can self-assess their learning and teachers can meet them at their point of need.
