This article talked about the Buffer zone that has been mandated throughout Massachusetts' health care facilities. The buffer zone outside of the Planned Parenthood in Boston has some committed anti-abortion protesters. The buffer zones are a way for patients seeking help to be freed from harassment from protesters. To some, these protesters are activists whose freedom of speech is being hindered.
This is a great place to look at what we can do to make change right here in MA. Granted, this is much more that needs to be done -- but as I look at this list it makes me wonder, "where do I fit in?"
There's a group I belong to through my church and they are currently supporting the Fast For Families Bus Tour. It's a route across America culminating in a march in Washington to bring attention to immigration reform, families who are separated because of deportation laws and the difficult path to citizenship for migrant workers and their families. I'll forward the article if anyone's interested, but the link didn't work when I tried it.
