City may sue developer who spent $20,000 to remove 40 tons of trash from vacant lot - 0 views

I liked this article because this man used his own money to help clean out an empty lot. He even remodeled it because it was such an eye sore. Now he is being asked to return the lot into it's previous trash filled condition.

Example of Civic Engagement - 0 views

  •
LINK: http://youtu.be/XpaOjMXyJGk This youtube video shows a Dove Campaign. The video shows how people view themselves (specifically woman) and how other people view them. The woman in the video are very harsh on themselves and how they look but when everyone else looks at them they see something different. I think that this video is a perfect example of civic engagement because DOVE is trying to spread a message to woman everywhere a problem that a lot of young and older woman deal with, and that is self esteem issues. This video is very uplifting and is the start to trying to inspire and uplift the spirits of woman all around the world.

Increase Physical Activity Opportunities - 0 views

  •
Being physically active is just as important to health as eating right. Children need 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous active play every day to grow up to a healthy weight. If this sounds like a lot, consider that 8-to 18-year-olds devote an average of 7.5 hours watching TV and movies, using computers and cell phones, and playing cell phones.
