Using Chronological Teaching * EffectiveEvangelism - 0 views

start with Creation when you teach the Gospel, and present God's story chronologically from Creation to Christ. This is proving to be one of the most exciting and productive soul-winning and discipleship methods available
-
Unfortunately, most people only hear bits and pieces of the Bible, and never really understand how it all goes together. No wonder so many are confused about what the Bible and the Gospel is about and what it all means. They have simply never had the whole story clearly explained from the beginning, in correct order.

We are told that evangelists who show the Jesus film have found greater success when they first show the God's Story video.

Reading the Bible Chronologically - 1 views
-
The following is a reading plan that I developed for some newer disciples / followers of Jesus to help them get a good picture of what is going on in Scripture from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. Our English Bibles do not follow a clear chronological order (particularly in the Old Testament), so many people who read the Bible straight through aren't able to, say, summarize the Biblical narrative as a whole. This is a bit of a problem as I believe that a developing healthy understanding of the Bible's story (and my/your place in it) is an essential component of discipleship.

Congo: Red Rubber, White King, Black Death - 0 views

Congo: Red Rubber, White King, Black Death is a critical film and documentary on the reign of King Leopold of Belgium over his private property we now know as the country of Congo. The film graphically illustrates the atrocities that occurred, the injustices, the evils and the popular lies that people hold to be true. Below is a quick summary of the film and a few notes on what seemed interesting to me.

Christian understanding of how and why to become like little children in faith - 0 views
-
Children are so innocent and trusting. Nothing much gets in the way of their faith, does it? They totally trust someone to take care of them and provide for their every need. When God says to come to Him like "little children," this is exactly what He means. We must come to Him with unwavering faith, trusting in Him to provide for all our needs.

"On Glenn Beck's Jan. 7 show, he was rightly puzzled regarding the exact purpose of President Barack Obama's Dec. 16 signing of an executive order "DESIGNATING INTERPOL AS A PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION ENTITLED TO ENJOY CERTAIN PRIVILEGES, EXEMPTIONS, AND IMMUNITIES." Beck spoke for a host of other government watchdogs when he said on the air: "We've been asking ever since it was signed: Why? Who can tell me what special interest group asked for this? If it were about terror, why not tell us that when he signed it? This Congress attacks our CIA and FBI, but Interpol gets immunity? Why? It makes no sense." Glenn, I agree. But I think I recently have seen behind the veil on the White House's covert mission and mystery with Interpol. The rest of Obama's executive order reads: "By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 1 of the International Organizations Immunities Act (22 U.S.C. 288), and in order to extend the appropriate privileges, exemptions, and immunities to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), it is hereby ordered that Executive Order 12425 of June 16, 1983, as amended, is further amended by deleting from the first sentence the words 'except those provided by Section 2(c), Section 3, Section 4, Section 5, and Section 6 of that Act' and the semicolon that immediately precedes them.""

""We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."-E.M. Forester So, what do you want to be when you grow up? It's a question that takes many people years and years of trial and error and self-discovery to figure out. But for singer/songwriter Francesca Battistelli, her mind was made up when she was only six years old. After seeing "The Secret Garden" on Broadway with her parents, the decision was ultimately a no-brainer. "There was just something about live theater-especially musical theater-that has always resonated with me," Francesca says. "So I thought that was it. I was going to be Mary Lennox in 'The Secret Garden'." Of course for anyone who knew her family, Francesca's passion for life on the stage wasn't all that surprising, given her mom and dad's extensive theater background. In fact, they met when her dad was the assistant conductor for the national tour of "The King and I," while her mom played Anna, the show's female lead opposite Yul Brynner. "
The Man with the Palsy | Salvation vs. Miracles: How do you see Jesus? « Refl... - 0 views

How do we see Jesus? Is Jesus our Saviour onto eternal life in fellowship with God? Or, Is Jesus a tool to fix problems in this life? When faced with life's problems what do we want from Jesus? Do we want exercise our faith or ease our flesh? Do we want His "strength to be made perfect" in our "weakness"?
