Lexile® at School - 0 views

"Lexile measures are powerful, versatile tools that educators can use to help their students grow as readers. When you use both Lexile reader measures and Lexile text measures, you can treat each student as an individual learner, rather than as below-grade, on-grade or above-grade. Site includes a "find a book" feature which allows you to search a book by title or author and find out the lexile level. There is a conversion chart on the site which will give you a guide to the approximate grade level equivalents as well. Here are some classroom ideas and applications to help you differentiate instruction for all readers in various situations."

Technology Integration Matrix - 5 views

  •
The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) illustrates how teachers can use technology to enhance learning for K-12 students. The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, constructive, goal directed (i.e., reflective), authentic, and collaborative (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003). The TIM associates five levels of technology integration (i.e., entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation) with each of the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments. Together, the five levels of technology integration and the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments create a matrix of 25 cells as illustrated below. INCLUDES: Videso examples from actual classrooms.

Nature Works Everywhere | Presented by The Nature Conservancy - 0 views

  •
Nature: It's more than just a faraway beach or mountain. It's a fantastic factory that makes the building blocks of all our lives-food, drinking water, the stuff we own and the air we breathe. It makes amazing memories, and even protects us from floods and storms! That's why The Nature Conservancy and its 550 scientists have created a new initiative - Nature Works Everywhere - to help students learn the science behind how nature works for us…and how we can help keep nature running strong. Nature Works Everywhere gives teachers, students and families everything they need to start exploring and understanding nature's fantastic factory - videos, interactive games, and interactive lesson plans that align to standards. Hosted by Nature Conservancy scientists, Nature Works Everywhere takes your class around the world to visit nature at its productive best - from coral reefs to bee gardens, from Maine's snowy forests to Africa's grasslands. We'll be adding more lessons each year from around the globe on science and social studies topics that teachers can use as is or customize for their own classroom needs.
