Witty Comics provides a simple platform that students can use to create two character dialogues. To use Witty Comics students just need to select the pre-drawn background scenes and the pre-drawn characters they want to feature in their comics. Writing the dialogues is the creative element that is left to the students.
UnderTheMicroscope is a new website of the Feminist Press NSF Women Writing Science project developed by IBM. UnderTheMicroscope collects stories from women involved in science, interested in science, and those who are maintaining or pursuing science in science fields. Using the news in the K-12 classroom is an excellent way to engage young people. Reading, writing and creating projects related to the news is part of most state's teaching standards.
