Teach Templates - Mozilla Webmaker - 3 views

Make and share your own kits for teaching the web. Create an entire lesson plan - or just a bite-sized individual activity, then share them with other educators and mentors around the world.

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it does not fail me just as much as this one. After all, I know it was my choice to read through, nonetheless I truly thought you'd have something helpful to say. All I hear is a bunch of crying about something you could fix if you weren't too busy seeking attention. http://watchlive.us/movie/watch-Transformers-4-Age-of-Extinction-online.html

Fake websites and spoof websites; evaluating internet resources using false websites - 7 views

  •
Librarians and educators need to be able to illustrate to students and users alike that websites cannot always be trusted to provide truthful and accurate data. This page provides examples of websites that are full of lies, inaccuracies or false information - either for amusement or for more worrying reasons. The list does not include phishing sites however; these are intended to fool a person into believing that they are visiting a legitimate bank site for example; there are already plenty of links to these online already.

This is a blog post of how Dr. Wesch sets up his Digital Ethnography class. The fascinating combination of Netvibes, yahoo pipes, blogger, wet paint, and other free tools to make a very compelling course hub is wonderful. This is exactly how I would have done it too! ;)

WebList - The Place To Find The Best List On The Web - 7 views

  •
Weblist is a new way to gather and organize content on the web. Create your list of URLs centered on a specific theme and we will combine it to one easy to navigate URL. Once you have created your list you can save it as a smart bookmark or as a customizable home page, share it with friends via email or through the top social media networks, and post it on your blog. Weblist is a great place to discover new user edited content across the web. Find lists in any subject from musical playlists to lists of informative scientific articles and anything in between. Weblist is a free service and registration is optional. If you choose to register as a user your entire list will be saved under your account and you will be able to edit, delete and add to your lists.

Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators - Critical Evaluation Surveys and Resources - Kathy... - 7 views

  •
"With the advent of the World Wide Web and the huge amount of information that is contained there, students need to be able to critically evaluate a Web page for authenticity, applicability, authorship, bias, and usability. The ability to critically evaluate information is an important skill in this information age. To help you get started with this process with your students, I have designed a series of evaluation surveys, one each at the elementary, middle, and secondary school levels. The elementary, middle, and secondary surveys have been re-designed and updated in February of 2009. The virtual tour, blog, podcast, and teacher site evaluations have been added since 2005 and updated in 2009."

"As we quickly approach the dawn of a new year, here are my picks for the 101 most useful websites of the year 2010. The list primarily highlights the lesser-known or undiscovered websites and misses out all-time favorites like Google Docs, Wikipedia or IMDB that most of us are already aware of."
