NHLBI ARDS Clinical Network web site. This site was established to provide information to the public on ARDS and the ARDS Network. In order to hasten the development of effective therapy for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Heath, initiated a clinical network to carry out multi center clinical trials of ARDS treatments. The goal of the Network is to efficiently test promising agents, devices, or management strategies to improve the care of patients with ARDS.

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a membership organization that supports and promotes a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs. Network members consist of: 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD), 39 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Programs funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), 19 Intellectual and Developmental Disability Research Centers (IDDRC), most of which are funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Development (NICHD). These programs serve and are located in every U.S. state and territory and are all part of universities or medical centers. They serve as a bridge between the university and the community, bringing together the resources of both to achieve meaningful change.

NICHD National Institute of Health Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development - Center for Research for Mothers & Children CRMC - CRMC serves as a principal source of NIH support for research and research training in maternal and child health. Supported scientists are advancing fundamental and clinical knowledge concerning maternal health and child development problems, such as gestational diabetes, antecedents of adult diseases, obesity and overweight, specific learning disabilities, mechanisms of cognition and learning, growth retardation, HIV/AIDS, and other congenital infections and diseases.
