The Technical Assistance ALLIANCE for Parent Centers (the ALLIANCE) is an innovative partnership of one national and six regional parent technical assistance centers, each funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). These seven projects comprise a unified technical assistance system for the purpose of developing, assisting, and coordinating the over 100 Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs) under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The national and regional parent technical assistance centers work to strengthen the connections to the larger OSEP Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network and fortify partnerships between Parent Centers and education systems at local, state, and national levels.

Teaching hospital and home of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Connecticut Children's Medical Center is the largest pediatric primary care service for children between Boston and New York. Pediatricians provide primary care services such as well-child checkups and immunizations, and care for minor illnesses. Emergency room staffed serves approximately 30,000 patients annually. Surgical unit nearly 6,000 surgeries performed annually. Intensive care unit serves children with traumatic injuries, life-threatening illness and children recovering from major surgery. We're a neonatal intensive care unit caring for about 500 critically ill or premature newborn babies a year; some children who weigh one pound at birth.

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a membership organization that supports and promotes a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs. Network members consist of: 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD), 39 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Programs funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), 19 Intellectual and Developmental Disability Research Centers (IDDRC), most of which are funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Development (NICHD). These programs serve and are located in every U.S. state and territory and are all part of universities or medical centers. They serve as a bridge between the university and the community, bringing together the resources of both to achieve meaningful change.

LifeBridge Health - The Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute - Center for Memory and Brain Health. PROGRAMS Include: The Epilepsy Center, The Spine Center, the Brain Injury Programs, Adult Hydrocephalus Center, Pain Management program and Traumatic Brain Injury as well as several other programs. The Traumatic Brain Injury and Neuro-Rehabilitation units provide medical recovery and improve patients' quality of life.

The Center on Human Development and Disability - A comprehensive interdisciplinary center. The Center on Human Development and Disability (CHDD) at the University of Washington makes important contributions to the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families through a comprehensive array of research, clinical services, training, community outreach, and dissemination activities.

Running in parallel with clinical care in the Phelps Center for Cerebral Palsy and Neurodevelopmental Medicine are several Phelps Center research projects designed to improve classification and treatment for children with cerebral palsy. Using advanced neuroimaging techniques in the Kennedy Krieger Institute Kirby Research Center for Functional Brain Imaging researchers have identified specific white matter pathways that carry messages from one part of the brain to another.

Cornell University ILR School - DBTAC - Northeast ADA Center - The DBTAC-Northeast ADA Center is part of a national network of centers which provide information, referrals, resources, and training on equal opportunity for people with disabilities and on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We serve businesses, employers, government entities, individuals with disabilities, and the media in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We also conduct research to help increase knowledge on best practices for the employment of people with disabilities.

The mission of the Waisman Center, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is to support the full inclusion and self determination of people with developmental disabilities and their families through:development of personnel qualified to provide services in the health, education, and social service systems provision of services, technical assistance and the dissemination of information, improvement of assessment, service and support approaches, contribution of new knowledge about the causes and prevention of developmental disabilities, the impact of disabilities on individuals and families, and the efficacy of different assessment, intervention and support methods.

The Pittsburgh NMR Center, jointly sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh is funded as a Biomedical Technology Research Center by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering and the National Institutes of Health

Title II - National Center for Special Education Research at idea.eg.gov - Mission.--The mission of the Special Education Research Center is-- (1) to sponsor research to expand knowledge and understanding of the needs of infants, toddlers, and children with disabilities in order to improve the developmental, educational, and transitional results of such individuals; (2) to sponsor research to improve services provided under, and support the implementation of, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (20 U.S.C. 1400 et seq.); and (3) to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in coordination with the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance. (c) Applicability of Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002.--Parts A and F, and the standards for peer review of applications and for the conduct and evaluation of research under sections 133(a) and 134, respectively, shall apply to the Secretary, the Director, and the Commissioner in carrying out this part.
