  • There is no doubt mobile web has taken the world by storm. Even more people today are equipped with smartphones running on iOS or Android, both of which provide exceptional web browsing platforms. And this number is only expected to increase as the average population wages and growth rate expands. However the process of designing and coding a mobile template can be very tedious. I’m hoping to provide a creative outlet in this gallery of 29 intuitive mobile designs. These are websites rendered in mobile browsers which have specific templates in place for these devices. Check out my examples below if you’re in need of creative ideas for your own design.

    For the app developers in CeL. This is not the prettiest app but it has some interesting ideas on creating rubric-based evaluations. I like the sliding Likert-type scale and the way other artefacts like photos and videos can be added to an evaluation.

  • Developers cannot ignore Android. The old mantra of releasing on iOS and then eventually hitting Android needs to be rethought. Google also needs to step up its game. Google Play is a mess and Android has a very big problem with piracy. Android the ecosystem still sucks, but Android the mobile platform is winning.

  • Today Apple released a free Mac App called Configurator which lets you administer multiple iOS devices at the same time. Perfect for schools! This is the app you need to deploy your iPads at your school and it’s easy to use. You can deploy iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch devices in mass. You can set up 30 at a time and quickly at that. Configure settings, install apps, set preferences, you name it.
