  We don't "parse" verbs in Spanish... I don't really know what that is... conjugate? We also don't do much translating... I wonder how a person could use this idea in a more communicative way?

  It could be like a waterfall of tweets... hablar hablo hablas habla hablamos hablais hablan. Teacher calls out the verb and tense and each student (or student group) tweets in the collection of conjugations (parses??).

This is so cool! I know it would keep my students more engaged and focused on what could potentially be boring grammatical exercises. I do not currently use an on-line notebook and want to use Google docs more often. Lots to think about!

What’s more important is that I can provide feedback without drawing dark red lines across their writing, an experience that can be discouraging to many writers (including myself). Instead, we use Comments, Editing, or Suggesting to provide less invasive feedback; we can also share audio feedback right in the document using Kaizena, a Google Doc add-on. Students can receive immediate feedback multiple times throughout the writing process--and I don’t have worry about dragging stacks of paper home!

  I'm curious to look at this Kaizena...in addition to commenting/suggesting, I also use colors to clarify my edits for students (I do this on paper, too)--different colors represent different kinds of errors, for example, purple means there is an error or lack of clarity in vocabulary choice, red means the verb is misconjugated, etc.

Lots of comprehensible input there! They learned about new genres. Some said they added music that we learned about in class to their playlists. Love that!

For example, for the last presentational goal where they tell what happened, they only used a few verbs (won, nominated, said) as memorized chunks. Intermediate students were able to give more details and it sounded like a true narration of events with transitions.
