    Wetoku is a web service or Web 2.0 tool out of Korea that provides a simple platform for interviewing someone via the Internet. Collaborating globally is a must for our students and as result interviewing can be a challenge. Wetoku makes doing an interview as easy as filling out some basic information, creating an interview session and then sending the creative interview session's URL to the interviewee. Once the recording is done, the interviewer can embed the copy of the URL into a blog or website. You will need a web-cam for this tool.

      I've used goo.gl which is Google's URL shortener. I like it because it also generates a QR code. The code can then be printed out and used for listening practice (the project that I used it with was a recorded dialogue uploaded to YouTube).

    Karen, I use a shortener when I have a very long URL - even to include in an email, or to advertise something I want people to go to (a survey I did) and some shorteners will let you pick your own ending so it can be something recognizable rather than random letters. I think Twitter does this automatically for you now.

      That's good to know. My students have a mixed bag of devices, and several have Ipads.

      Love this feature. Like with reading, middle schoolers pick through material to find the answers. We can't glue them to their seats, but they never know where those questions will pop up and they can't look ahead to see what answers they need to find. Love that!

      Good to know to allay students' fears. Will they even think that their answers would be made public-probably not most MS students.

  • Creating an account for Adobe just requires an email address and password. An .edu address is not necessary, so teachers can keep their accounts if they happen to change schools. Students can use the program for multiple classes without having to join any teacher’s class.

  • Padlet can be used by students and by teachers. With padlet you can create an online post-it board that you can share with any student or teacher you want. Just give them the unique Padlet link. Padlet allows you to insert ideas anonymously or with your name. It’s easy to use and very handy.

  • Sharing a Padlet board is easy; choose for a QR code or a link.
  • Let your students insert the link in the browser or in the Padlet app. They can ‘continue as guest’ so they just have to scan the qr code with the Padlet app or type in the URL, without creating an account. Shortly after, they will be directed to your first Padlet board.

  • 23. Geocaching For physical exercises, students have to go walking more. Let you students do some geocaching and let them post pictures of themselves and the treasure to the Padlet board. It will encourage the others to find the treasures as well.
