Over 200 videos on U.S. and World History. Might be useful for more advanced students.

A wide variety of technologies are used to spark interest in science and math. Tips include use of video and video-editing software; games; Voki avatars, etc. Part of a very nice series for content-based learning.

Many good lesson ideas/tips from students and teachers who use tech in their classrooms. Here the focus is on social studies and history.

A nice example of how to do a Think-Pair-Share in a math context. Students first work individually, then pair up to compare and talk about their answers, and then share within their groups of about 5. Talking about concepts helps students process and learn the concept. The teacher circulates, listening in. Groups report back to the whole class by holding up a small whiteboard/paper with the answer, so that teacher can quickly see how each group (mixed levels of expertise) has done it. She selects one or two groups to explain the answer and how they arrived at it.

This is a nice science activity. You can turn a sunny day into a windy day or even a blizzard. Requires Flash plug-in. For grades 2-6.

R. Byrne shows how the U.S. National Archives can be used to teach history, allowing students to use digital artifacts in their projects. For high school and adult learners.

"The U.S. Library of Congress offers a wealth of fantastic online resources for teachers and students. A 5th grade math class takes a new look at Common Core, formative assesment, creative/critical thinking, problem solving, classroom management techniques, group work. Some bil-lingual used. Individual students are addressed and encouraged in this exciting model classroom that is very hands-on.

A great example of a clearly defined lesson in guided reading and thinking in an historical context (Ghandi v. Ho Chi Minh as protest leaders). Ms. Duvoor models how to think like a historian as you read original documents.

"Mapping History contains hundreds animated and interactive maps from key events in the history's of the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. The U.S. maps are sorted chronologically and by event or era. The European maps section is categorized more by topic and appears to be still under construction. The Latin America section is sorted into three regions (Caribbean, Central America, South America) and there are four African maps, each one shows the continent's division and political borders at various points of history. Mapping History is an excellent resource for the social studies classroom. Thanks out to Greg Odell who shared this site on Twitter." Great for project- or content-based projects.

R. Byrne describes "web adventures in science that Rice University has produced. There are six adventures in the series including the CSI adventure. Each of the adventures is appropriate for middle school or high school use. In each adventure students take on the role of scientist to solve a crime, conduct experiments, and learn about scientific methods and processes." Neat way to engage students in science and science careers.

From Learn Alberta, this set of lessons has vivid cartoon animations. Skip the Intro, if you have low tolerance for kids' cartoons. This lively and practical set of lessons should be fine for young learners (7-11).

Mechanics and drama help students understand science and how life works. For young and very young learners, this lesson demonstrates how to engage learners physically in the subjects they are studying.

This computational knowledge engine gives you results not only in maths and geography, but in socioeconomics, weather, astronomy, etc. Should be fun for students to try out.

Instructor: Cora Chen (visit Cora's ESL Page)" This is a nice example of how a day-trip can be combined into a media and reading-writing project for adult students.

It would be great to have your contributions it is very easy to do:" This doesn't have to be just in Adelaide--use Tom Barrett's ideas for a Google Maths Map in your local area. There are math activities for K-5--it's fun, too!

Extensive list of video lectures in the sciences, particularly biology, chemistry, weather, and technology; includes Hawking's videos.

Other ideas for timelines: coordinate a get together, research history, track your startup, organize a vacation, mastermind Thanksgiving dinner, learn about family history, plan a revolution, etc." User can set up layers, e.g., education, relationships, locations in a biography. Doesn't have ability to upload pictures or video, however. Good instructional page with examples.

This is an interesting video, both pedagogically, for teaching EST, and for instructors using small groups--and it's based on research by a professor of physics at Harvard. Go watch.

Webcams from around the world are the basis for participatory collection of data about the zoo-universe, as well as astronomy, climate, and genes. Have your students join one of the on-going projects.
