The decision by Iraq to invite interest in a number of solar independent power producer (IPP) projects is not the first time that Baghdad has sought to push ahead with competitively tendered IPP schemes.

Here is some interesting information about the research project and the forthcoming book.
* The research project took just over ten months to complete.
* It covered 12 Middle Eastern countries: six GCC countries, plus Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria.
* 310 managers and senior executives were interviewed.
* The average length of an interview was 1 hour and 6 minutes; this translates into 341 hours of interviewing, or 43 man days - not counting travel and waiting time.
* The research was designed, planned, and organized by Farid Muna (Chairman) and Ziad Zennie (Partner)
