"FEATURED CRAFTSMAN! 2011 Craftsman of the Decade, Louis Chenot
Visit Lou's page, which is linked from the Model Engineering Masterpieces section to see superb models featuring a running 1/6 scale 1932 SJ Duesenberg in miniature. Lou was presented with his $2000 award at the NAMES Expo in Detroit April 30th, 2011. He and his wife, June visited the Craftsmanship Museum in Carlsbad, CA on September 2, 2011 to display and discuss the model for local visitors. It was the last time the engine will be run before being reinstalled in the car. Video of the special event has been posted HERE."
This is the first time I have heard the radio chatter while the team
performs their maneuvers. it is used to alert the team of changes made by
the leader in power settings, control stick pressure, and to remind of the
next maneuver to be performed as well as the timing of entry and exit.
These guys are smooth! Really really good stuff here.

"How to make your construction set:
Get yourself a piece of sturdy cardboard. You'll want it to be stronger than a cereal box so it doesn't bend or rip easily.
Now, simply cut your cardboard up into squares. Then along the edges or at the corners, cut some very narrow V-shaped slits."
"The order that animals feed on other plants and animals is called a food chain. Do you think you can put a food chain together? give it a try and learn why every animal within a food chain is so important."
"The Wright Flyer (often retrospectively referred to as Flyer I or 1903 Flyer) was the first powered aircraft, designed and built by the Wright brothers. They flew it four times on December 17, 1903 near the Kill Devil Hills, about four miles south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, U.S."
"This tutorial introduces children, ages 7-9, to the concept of online privacy and teaches them to distinguish between information that is appropriate to give out and information better kept private - and to recognize how this may change in different contexts."
"use technology and imagination to find how traditional Western and Chinese dice mathematically function, and then, within given constraints, to create new dice with the same probability distribution. Ultimately, they explore the patterns and processes of the Mathematics underlying the math - how for instance to multiply and factor polynomials and what each factor contributes to dice probability distribution and die face value."
"Our school has embraced a Bring Your Own Technology/Device approach to enhancing the use of technology for our students and teachers. For the past two years we have had a soft or "organic" launch to this policy. For this coming fall, we officially launch our BYOD initiative."
"The Mystery of Dark Matter Video Game - A mystery exists! Galaxies do not seem to have enough mass for stars to orbit at their observed speeds. Galaxies should be flying apart, but they don't. Why not? Explore the surreal world of dark matter - one of the universe's greatest mysteries. Click here to play the game! "
Ideas make the world go round. And many of the most potently beneficial are born of science, especially theoretical physics. That's because theoretical physics seeks to understand at the deepest level what the universe is made of and how it works. "
"human power, delivered to the craft's four rotors through the bicycle pedals he steadily pumps throughout his flight. It's that fragile machine, built by Reichert's Canadian team, which has now won a long-coveted international prize that lay unclaimed for years. The AHS Igor I. Sikorsky Human Powered Helicopter Competition was established in 1980 for the first successful controlled flight of a human powered helicopter that could reach a height of three metres while hovering for at least one minute in a 10-square-meter area."
John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Calif. David Vezina had given up a job piloting Learjets to teach kids about aviation.
In addition to providing real airplanes to high schools and other interested groups, Build A Plane is working with the National Educational Association, the Wathen Foundation, the FAA, NASA and several key aviation and aerospace organizations to create an aviation-based curricula that teaches science, technology, engineering and math. And for groups that don't have the room or the faculty to construct real aircraft, Build A Plane will soon release a software package and lesson guide that will allow kids to build airplanes virtually.
