I see a lot more students using cell phones at my building than there were just a year ago. This observation and the implications was a bit sobering. What challenges does the ubiquitous use of cell phones and other smart devices create for our network safeguards? Is cyberbullying going on in your building(s)? What options do targeted students and parents have for reporting or enacting a grievance against cyberbullying? Are reported correlations of student absenteeism and cyberbulliying accurate? I'd like to post this on our blogs and ask our staffs to weigh in on the topic.

"touch-sensitive launch buttons not working (HP Compaq 6515b)" One of my teachers is having an issue with her 6515b where the touch strip is not working. A user suggested first removing the battery and the adapter, then reinsert both and reboot. They claimed it worked for them. But, the user also has a bum battery and adapter. Right now the she is running her computer without the battery, using someones adapter.

Apple and mistake in the same sentence...wow.

Wow is right. I read the article. Apple sets itself apart from the field by being innovative. The iPhone is as popular as ever, and yet they use a boiler plate approach to "controlling" the Apps store content.

It's a start. The list isn't extensive but it does point you to more definitions. I like the simplicity.

However in the near future I plan to squeeze as much as I can out of them!

Wow! what an I opener. Sociology professor, Kathleen Bogle's comment "...Invincibility factor that young people feel...", really pinpointed what I feel has changed in students since my first year, ten years ago.

NCTA President Kyle McSlarrow said the plan has two goals: "to drive sustainable adoption in populations that currently do not benefit from broadband, and to ... positively affect educational performance among participating students." Sounds great right? But, check out the two posted comments which both bring up good points. Keep track of this program.
