Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) is the requirement in federal law that students with disabilities receive their education, to the maximum extent appropriate, with nondisabled peers and that special education students are not removed from regular classes unless, even with supplemental aids and services, education in regular classes cannot be achieved satisfactorily.

My fourth grader and I are reading this right now. He loves it. More accessible to elementary school than the junior version of Omnivore's Dilemma perhaps? Still a bit dry and has some "adult" themes. He glosses over sometimes but other parts he asks me to read again.

A lot of resources from parent, teacher, kid, etc.. perspectives, and has many categories, not a literal focus on environment. - At Earth's Kids we believe that children are our future. Their creativity, values, and choices will shape our society and create waves of impact that may some day be felt all over the planet - perhaps for centuries to come. It's up to us help them make that impact a positive one.
